Friday afternoon 17:00, IAS 322
2x20min talks on-site, broadcast over zoom, 2 speakers/session

THU planet groups and visitors

choose from:

  1. own research;
  2. high-impact works;
  3. ArXiv recap (new)

Aim. The goal of this meeting is to inform ourselves — the Tsinghua planet community — on our scientific efforts. The meeting should foremost be a place for lively scientific discussion — a place to learn for all.

Contributions

1. Own work

Present your (recent) research progress (or lack thereof)

We slightly prefer this option, in particular for students

2. Review

Review a high-impact work in some detail

3. ArXiv recap

Highlight the preprints appearing about planets on the ArXiv in the past week. Highlight a substantial number; not just 1 or 2 papers. Also, highlight works not in your core research interests. For each preprint say at least what is significant and show 1 key figure.

We solicit presentations now. Please, consider presenting when:

  • you are new to this group
  • you have published a paper or going to publish a paper
  • you want to update about your research (and like to have some feedback)
  • you have not presented anything for a long time

Specifically, I expect the "core participants" (anyone associated with Profs. Bai, Mao, Ormel, Wang, Zhu) to present at least 1/year.
